Dayton's November Norms

From the NWS...

• The normal high temperatures in November begin in the upper 50s but cools down into the mid 40s by the end of the month. 
• Normal low temperatures start out in the lower 40s but end up in the upper 20s by the end of the month. 
• Precipitation for the month is normally 3.39 inches also the wettest month of the fall season. A little snow is also possible with the normal amount at 0.6 inches.

What is the forecast for November 2011? The climate prediction center indicates that temperatures will be slightly above normal and precipitation slightly below normal.

Cool Crisp Weekend Ahead

We'll have a mostly sunny skies on tap this weekend but temperatures will be 5-10 degrees below normal. Highs will be hard pressed to crack 60 degrees while the lows will hover around 40 degrees. It could be worse. The east coast along I-95 is getting snow!

Where is the Rain?

With the rain holding off and the temperatures and humidity rising there is a better chance for a thunderstorm this evening. The rain will be here before midnight and extend through Thursday. Thursday will be wet with the temps coming down from a high at midnight.

Wet Wednesday and the Unseasonable Cool

By tomorrow afternoon the rain will be here. We could see over an inch of rain before it ends sometime around midday on Thursday. And with the end of the rain the temperatures will be dropping into the 40s. Don't expect it to break 50 until Sunday.

Long Range Forecast: Below Average Cold

This time of year the long range winter predictions are coming in. The Weather Channel based on work by WSI (Weather Services International) has added theirs to the mix.  It looks like a cold start to our winter here in Dayton with much below average temperatures through January.  Does this mean a better chance of a White Christmas in the Miami Valley?
